Foxwell NT650 Elite - Review and Price discussion
Heyya. Today I'm gonna do a quick review about an OBD1/OBD2 scanner. What tricked me into buying one of these was the poor description in one of the Foxwell authorized retailers website. (foxwelltool.com to be precise) .
And yes, I have the genuine version of the hardware no cheap china clones or copies.
Registered on-line for lifetime support at official foxwell web-site.
I bought it a little under 200 euro's ,but you will never guess what's the price of this item in all-known online store bol.com . Which is based of course in The Netherlands.
Yeah,you see it right: 449 euro's
Nevermind that, we'll just assume we never saw that.
And let's even don't mention the fact that for that kind of money it's possible to buy android tablet which will be really able to perform all the promised options on the vehicles.

So... long story short: The auto-find VIN option does not work... So you need to input it manually. Tried it on 2001 Volvo and 2004 MB year car models - nope. Maybe for 2007+ models it works, don't know.
So,if we tinker the numbers manually we can get to the point where the device really does read any faults if there are pending or stored codes, but that's mostly all... You can also perform the DPF cleaning process , but other options are available only for some of the models. Oh,yeah forgot, if you're too lazy to find manual over the net how to do engine oil reset - this tool might also would work out just fine for you. On the resume - It's overrated and overpriced device, sorry.
I'll paste the retailers promises:
But we all know that's just for the looks... In real life practice the coverage of those "Wide Vehicle Coverage" is for some VW,FORD,TOYOTA,HONDA,NISSAN,MITSUBISHI,GM.
Kudos for the bol.com tho' because they did really correct mention the true support list - so that's that.
So if you are looking for a real 'garage' service tool where you can perform some serious maintenance tasks- better avoid this one, ain't gonna do too much as it's advertised.
So in conclusion: A good tool if you need to read and reset engine faults. Lifetime updates which is also a good thing , the bundle comes with 16GB SD for the device and updates do work and are provided weekly.
Cheers, hope it helped.
